Background
Owain Glyndŵr’s Uprising started in September 1400 in Glyndyfrdwy, and he and his army controlled most of Cymru by 1404. His campaign included battles, sieges, treaties, raids and the taking of hostages - which forced the English king, Henry IV, to send armies to search for Glyndŵr. 2024 Competition
Write a newspaper article about an event from Glyndŵr’s Uprising.
The article must not exceed 500 words and it must include at least one picture or drawing.
The closing date for entries is: NOW CLOSED
Two prizes will be awarded, one for Group A and one for Group B. Both winning entries will receive a prize of £50 and be published on the Society`s website. £50 will also be donated to the winner’s school.
Your entry must be entered using the Competition Form on the Children Section of the Society’s Website.
Entry Procedure
To submit your entry, proceed as follows:
1. Create a Word document.
2. Write your newspaper article. This must be 500 words or less.
3. Insert one or more photographs or drawings.
4. Save the Word document and attach your entry via ‘GROUP A’ or ‘GROUP B’ below.
