Cheval Young Writers Award - 2012


First:


Lowri Llewelyn Astley

Lowrie was studying at Liverpool John Moore's University.  Her home is in Anglesey, North Wales.  Her ambition is to become a screen writer.

Her winning entry is a story entitled “Spider”


Second:


Michael Anthony Oliver-Seminov

Known as Mao, he was brought up in Cardiff.  At the age of sixteen his surrogate family encouraged him to read many works of literature that inspired him. He has a wide variety of work experience. His wife is from Siberia. He has gained recognition for his writing both in Wales and in Russia.

His winning entry is a story entitled  “Anthropengenic”


Third:


Georgia Carys Williams

Georgia had recently completed her M.A. in Creative Writing at Swansea University. She is gaining poularity as a writer, and has been featured in Swansea Life Magazine.

Her winning entry is a story entitled “Lyrebird lament”
